Being Prepared for Potentially Dangerous Home Situations

I have been speaking about home security with a lot of homeowners. I am working to get some insight on different ways that our homes can be threatened. One of the things I asked each person was if they had ever experienced suspicious actions at their house. It could have been burglary, a broken window, a suspicious person – anything. I was surprised that almost everybody had at least one story to tell. Most of their stories led them to buy a home alarm system. I have been told that Home Security in Delray Beach is a choice that people people have gone with.

One individual told me that he had been home for the afternoon, but left to go pick his little boy up from football practice. When he and his son got back home about twenty minutes later, one of the windows was broken and things were missing inside. He seemed to think he had been watched, and the robber knew when he left. Another mother of three explained to me that she once answered the door to a man who said they were a salesman. After the guy pitched his sale, he asked if he could talk it over with her inside the house. She said no thanks, and the man again replied by asking if he could still come inside and use her phone. Since he was being so persistent, she again declined and closed the door in his face.

All of us have had encounters with shady people and situations. Some experiences are worse than others, like that of the first man. The information I am digging for will help me figure out what encourages people to purchase a home alarm system. The woman said she elected to get one the very next day.

I have heard many identical stories from other families. We never know what might happen on a given day. I am sure that these two people did not wake up thinking something unusual would happen that day. It really stresses the importance of being proactive.
